FITNESS
GET MOVING!
By eating less & doing more, the Guru encouraged their Sikh to partake in service & maintain the precious life they have been given. This ideal became formalised by the 2nd Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji, who created the ‘Mal Akhara’ – wrestling arena. Here, Sikh would come to train, fight & learn how to look after their physical health. The classes hosted by P6 Academy essentially aim to emulate this by teaching students the importance of looking after their health as a primary focus. In doing this, the hope is that students retain an active interest in caring for themselves & make it a habit.
FITNESS CLASSES
The classes consist of cardio, circuits, stretching, self-defence and wrestling amongst many other things. We wanted these classes to be as informative as they could be which is why we have tailored our fitness classes to be more efficient & effective. Having our fitness classes split by gender, for example, is one way in which we aim to cater for each individual. These changes go along with one of P6 Academy’s main goals: for all students to feel comfortable & safe whilst they are learning.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸਉਪੇ ਆਗੈ ਧਰੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਮਾਰਿ ॥
Placing mind and body in offering before the Lord, they conquer and eradicate egotism from within.
Sri Guru Amar Daas Ji, Ang 28, SGGS.
Every Sikh Guru has practised and taught the importance of exercise in a human being’s life – this human body granted by God deserves to be looked after. With P6Academy, students are given the opportunity to learn in a humble, family environment that ensures the development of health by including sessions such as cardio, stretching, self-defence, yoga & wrestling.
