Dr Jugjit Singh Authors Notes: In my book, I use the definition of ‘The Arrow of Time’ as posited by Arthur Eddington in 1927, which is the concept of a one way direction of Time. This leads to the inevitable progression, or extinction, of a species in evolutionary timescales. However, in the shorter timescale (5,000 years) that I am reviewing, the forward movement is mainly perceptual as this is the result of our memories and events leading to that point. The Brain is the hardware which, as we are not dealing in evolutionary timescales, is fixed and unchanging. However, when we come to the Mind, or our human software, this can be updated through experience, education and environment, etc. Although our Mind is capable of expansion, we need to understand that a change is required to make this happen. It is a thought-provoking title designed to try and make the next generation rethink the need to reprogramme their human software. The need to do this and how it can be done are explained.
